10/02/08: DeKalb Democratic Executive Committee
The Executive Committee will meet on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 @ 7:00pm at the Democrat Headquarters in Rainsville. All members of the Executive Committee are urged to attend. We have some vacancies to fill on our committee, and business to discuss.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 the DeKalb Democrat Club will meet at 6:00pm at the Bevill Enrichment Center in Rainsville for our annual Unity Dinner. Please bring a covered dish of your choice. Our confirmed guests for the dinner are the State Judge candidates Judge Deborah Bell Paseur, Judge Clyde Jones, Aimee Cobb Smith, and Kimberly Drake.
We are down to the final days and we must not accept anything but a victory. Do not forget the importance of our local races. Charles Warren, Martha Ogle, Ed Nix, and Glenn Tucker all need our support. These races define us as a party and we must stand strong united under the principles that make us proud to say we are DEMOCRATS! Remember to vote on November 4th.

Our schools cannot afford to have on the job training in the Superintendent's office. We must elect an experienced educator who will do what is best for our children so remember to VOTE WARREN for Superintendent of Education.

As November 4 gets closer let me encourage everyone to make contacts with family and friends to vote Democratic for Obama to the local races. We don't need to slip up and not elect our county democratic nominees, they all need our help and support.
Charles Warren is going for a third term as School Superintendent. He has the experience and expertise to continue doing the great job he is doing. Take it from me, as a school principal, we need to return Charles Warren to the Superintendent's office.
Martha Ogle has an opponent for Revenue Commissioner. We need Martha to return to her office. Can you imagine dealing with someone from the other Party about your car tags and land tax. Martha Ogle is doing a great job and has many years of experience in this office. We need to encourage everyone to support and vote for Martha Ogle.
Glenn Tucker is running as our nominee for County Commissioner District One. Glenn is well qualified, having served 24 years in the Alabama National Guard and running a family farm that has taught him the necessity of good stewardship and managing a tight budget. Let's all work to see Glenn elected.
Ed Nix is our incumbent for County Commissioner District Two. Before Ed was a member of the County Commission he worked many years with the road department. His knowledge and expertise is unprecedented as a servant of the people. DeKalb County needs Ed Nix to continue to serve as county commissioner.
I would say that we all should and will vote to support the Democratic ticket from the top to the bottom. Yellow Dogs, it's time to unite and get the job done. I think we will all be surprised with the number that vote a straight ticket.
Our DeKalb Democrat Headquarters is open. We are located on Hwy 35 West in Rainsville, beside Pizza Hut. Our hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday and 10:00am - 2:00pm on Saturday. Come by and pick up campaign materials and signs, voters registration forms, or just visit a while.
